"Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2024" held from July 13th to November 10th, 2024! A 150-year-old traditional farmhouse villa located on the riverside terrace near James Turrell's "House of Light". Ideal for exploring artworks during the art festival!
"The House," a traditional farmhouse from Satoyama Jujo. "SEN" is located about 30 minutes away from the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale venue, in the Kawanishi area of Tokamachi City. "The House" aims to provide guests with another sense of "hometown." With high-quality panoramic saunas and designer furniture, it offers service reminiscent of overseas luxury villas, coupled with the warmth of hospitality from local mothers. We deliberately exclude "hotel-like service" and cherish everyday smiles, welcoming everyone as "guests of the village."
We recommend a 2-night stay if possible. Taking a leisurely break in the middle will truly make this feel like your "hometown." Additionally, bookings for 2 nights or more automatically receive a discount.
【Dinner】 For dinner, we offer a special pot dish from the Satoyama Jujo's recipe or BBQ (limited to the green season). Please choose when booking.
■ "Joya Nabe" - A version of the "Joya Nabe" that Rosanjin Kitaoji wrote, "You won't get tired of eating it all night long," tailored for the countryside.
■ "Medicinal Pot" - Abundantly using extracts from mountain trees, dried wild grass extracts, homemade fermented seasonings, etc. (slightly spicy, for adult tastes)
■ BBQ - Local mothers will visit SEN and prepare from starting the fire!
【Breakfast】
We'll bring the "rice course" breakfast to your room. Shinmai Koshihikari rice (locally produced) cooked shiny in a hearth, served with a set meal prepared by local mothers, miso soup made with vegetables and miso as you like it, and for seconds, Tamago Kake Gohan made with fresh eggs from Tokamachi. Please enjoy a relaxing time as if you've returned to the countryside.

【THE HOUSE IZUMI (Private house) 】Half board with Satoyama-jujo Dinner Course
Relax in a private house-style room located on a hill surrounded by rice paddies about 12 minutes by car from Satoyama Jujo.
There are no staff on site at The House Izumi. Our staff will come to the room to check you in and out.
Originally a private residence that is over 150 years old, The House Izumi was fully renovated under the supervision of the architect Mitsuyoshi Miyazaki.
The first floor features a living room, two Japanese-style rooms, a kitchenette with a counter, and a private bathroom (one indoor bath and one open-air bath).
The bedroom is on the second floor. Parking is available.
Guests are also welcome to use the public spaces at Satoyama Jujo during their stay (e.g., hot spring, shops, lounges).
The House Izumi can accommodate up to seven guests.
